and trac control light stayed on. Did this happen because the battery is bad

sounds like you have a bad alternator it could be not getting enough power thats why batt lights on other light false code or some things get a little screwey with not enough power check and see if your running between 13 to14 volt if not chances are you need a alternator

Jump starting can blow stuff out. Mostly because people attatch the cables with the ignition on, and the surges from the arcing and sparking when you put the cables on go stright into the electronics. You'll just have to make sure the alternator is good and try driving it with a charged battery. Jumpstarting can also trigger false alarms to the computer. Clear the alarms, and if they don't come back and everything works, don't worry.
