My lot is 0.8 of an acre. I can only afford $50K and I am wondering whether it is possible to have a house built out on my lot for less than that, using a construction company.

it depends on the size home you want built. I seriously doubt that you will be able to have anything over 900 sq.ft. built by a contractor. You may look at double wide mobile homes as an alternative.

the min living space for a home according to the fed. laws is 750 sq ft heated....the cheapest u could build a house for and meet the min codes is $80.00 per sq ft......thats $60,000.00 and i do mean the minimum codes.....

well... depends how big you want it and where is located..if the company is cheap or expensive and also the taxes you will have to pay to the city...first calculate that then you will know
