I would firstly apologize to the Iraqi people for our historical usage of terrorism upon them. The USA supported a regime that they corrupted with too much power. Things in Iraq would have never gotten so rotten if the USA didn't turn Saddam into a madman.
Secondly, I would pull out USA forces and give considerable economic aid to the country in restarting their political/economic system again.
Lastly, I would set Saddam free but censored from power. It is quite apparent he is innocent of the bogus charges they prompt him up to.

I would pull all the troops out and send in the diplomacy. The truth is, the middle east is the way it is because the governments are all corrupt and they stop the people of their countries from over throwing them by sending the countries attention else where, like the middles east's fight against westernization. The are a proud people and should let fate decide once they had their eyes opened that the real enemy are their leaders not the west. Sadly, a democracy will never work in Iraq until the citizens open their eyes to the tyranny of their own governments. The longer we stay, the longer the governments of the middle east can use terrorist agencies to justify their cause. Right now, we are just adding to the fire. The more Bush keeps us their, the more he puts us closer to another 9/11. So are government isn't so perfect either.

i wouldn't have gone in their in the first place, but since that can't happen i would probably pull all our troops out because there is nothing our troops can do. The only reason there is alot of violence in Iraq is because we are there. I compare the war in Iraq to Napoleons invasion of Spain: Napoleon wanted to go through Spain to get Portugal because they were friends with the British. Spains king didn't want that so he invaded Spain and put his relative on the throne. Even though Spains king was corrupt and the system that he put in was proven to be better, it was not what the people of Spain wanted so they rebelled against Napoleon. They joined with the British and they helped the Spanish and eventually Napoleon had his waterloo.
Now we want to go to Iraq cause the have oil and we want it, we take away their leader and put in a democracy which is proven to be better but its not what the Iraqi people want so they turn to Al Queda to help them get rid of us because its the only thing they can turn to. It doesn't matter if we defeat all the "insurgents" and there is peace in Iraq and they have a democracy, as soon as we turn our backs they'll go back because a democracy is not what they want.

Evacuate all ground troops, start bombing all structures, until there is a total surrender by all sides. When the country is properly softened up, then send in an overwhelming force of ground troops, tanks, with air cover and heavy artillery. Everyone has to move, everything has to be rebuilt from the ground up, by the people, based on the oil profits of privately held oil.
But that'll never happen because they don't even know what sort of government they're trying to force everyone into? Socialism, democracy, republic, theocracy? How can our government tell anyone how to behave when they can't stand up for what's right here in the US?

I'd do all I could to pull out.
This war is a lot of money for negative advertisement and no goals achieved. Well, Saddam is gone, but what did you get in return isn't an improvement, is it.
Iraq is not ready for democracy, everybody votes ethnically and real political parties do not exist or are tiny. I say the whole war was a pretty bad deal for the US.

The president will stick his neck in there until election because he does not want to lose his face. The whole situation, I believe, will be very much like Vietnam. The next president will pull the troop out.

I would send in more troops, carpet bomb the borders with Iran, Jordan and Syria to prevent more terrorists from entering the country, use special forces commandos to hunt and kill every known leader of the terrorist movements and the clerics that espouse their hatred and death to America propaganda. Once the terrorist attacks minimize, get back to the business of training the Iraqis and helping them to establish order. Once order is established continue to assist the Iraqis in forming THEIR government and THEIR economy.

I HATE the president right now. I would help the troops fighting for our country! I would also give money to the poor, the orphans, and animal shelters because I care about pets!
