By heating them and condensing the steam back into water. The residue after heating will be sugar and the condensed water in another container.
PS Fairly gentle heating otherwise you'll have toffee! lol

Can't you freeze it out (as well as cook it out)?
Because remember if you stir sugar into a cold drink, it wont dissolve, so the cooler a liquid is, the less soluble the sugar will be in it....and it will precipitate--(yes, with the aid of gravity, too)
So in the fridge first, don't discturb it overnight, then freeze it.... you should be able ot lift the ice and have sugar at the bottom....

The process of boiling. Have th water evporate but cover your container with a cover that lets you connect a tube so that you can transfer the water to anotehr container. This will leave your sugar at the bottom in a solid state

Do not heat it, caramel is burnt sugar. Be patient and let the particles seperate on their own with gravity.
