I am 23 years old, do not wear lots of make-up, and have oily skin? I was wondering if anyone could give me their advice for the best brand of foundatin and powder to use. I currently just purchased a MAC Studio Fix compact, but then was told by several people that MAC is not a good product to use on my face. I understand that it really comes down to personal choice, but I was just wondering if people would suggest their favorites and maybe I could find what fits me best without buying every brand possible (they are a little pricey).

Clinique works really good. I have tried many brands and find that Clinique is by far the best. Plus every couple of months they give away small gifts with purchase! =)

Try Bare Minerals. Even if you don't want to use the foundation, at least get the Mineral Veil. I have incredibly oily skin and any other makeup I used would make it worse. When I started using Bare Minerals, the oil pretty much stopped right away! The mineral veil you can put on anytime...it is translucent...and it will just suck up the oil. I put it on in the morning before and after I put on the foundation, then i put it on again at lunch time (just because I am so paranoid about being oily...) and my skin is perfect! Go to a Sephora store or a Bare Essentuals store and try it out for yourself! I love it! It looks and feels like you have no makeup on, but still covers up and evens skin tone.

There is a product out there called dual active powder which you can apply water or dry. I use it dry when I am a bit oily. I really like it. It is a private label brand so you have to do some looking around for it, maybe online. (I used to work for the company that made it and I'll never go with the commercial brands again.)

To control your oil, you need to start from the bare skin. Your foundation will help, but you need to be using the same brand of products on your face. Face wash, and even if you have oily skin, you still need a moisturizer. For more advice, check out www.marykay.com
I have been a consultant for 3 years and have been using the products for years. It all starts with a regimin if you want to control your oily skin. check out my website. I can send you free samples of anything!

Best news for you! I used everything that you could name. The best one is Everyday Minerals, Intensive formula. I am super oily and these minerals stay on the whole day. You can ask for free samples from everydayminerals.com. The price is 1/5 of Bare Escentuals and it does not itch or irritate your skin like BE. It is great for healing the skin and old acne scars as well.

Clinique is definitely the one I would suggest. My sister has a very oily face as well and she loves it. You could also get those little oil blotter papers that Neutrogena makes too. So even if you're not wearing foundation or powder, your face doesn't look shiny. They're great.

I have the same complaint, and I also try not to wear much makeup.

No lie, Revlon Colorstay is great. It's definately my favorite. It works great. Just make sure to apply a light powder over top of it, just to control oil.

Take my advice, girlfriend.
It really works.
I've spent so much money on foundation and I've FINALLY found a good one.

I agree with lovebug. Bare escentuals is freakin awesome! I also use tinted moisturizer instead of liquid foundation. I recommend Laura Mercier tinted lotion. It's SPF 20 and oil-free. I also don't like spending a whole lot of money on facial products but believe me this stuff is really worth it. I used to have really messed up skin, but now.... wow, I have such smooth great skin. Just try to use oil-free products on your face from now on, you'll really see a big change

dont apply the makeup on as thick for the smile line cracks and for the oil try putting on a light bronzer or even a little bit of baby powder to soak up the oil!
