I have white trim throughout my house. It looks great against any paint color.
If you want to paint the trim the same as the walls, you won't have as much of a "frame" around your windows and doors.
Go white... you'll be happy!

It's really a personal preference. Myself I have a percale color for my trimwork. It sets off my colors wonderfully. You just need to experiment with it. Try painting two small rooms, the first with a 2nd color on the trim and the second room all one color. See which one you like the best. Paint isn't to expensive. Or you could just paint one small room in the one color. That way if you like it you won't be out any cost for the second color. I'm sure you will like the contrast in having two colors. However I would try to keep my trim consistant through the house or at least the same floor (for twostory) Have fun painting

You don't have to do anything you don't want to do when it's your house. Whatever makes you happy. If your trim happens to be slender and not too pronounced, it would be much easier to use the same color (but be sure you use a low gloss paint instead of a matte). If the trim is ornate or large, black or white or an accent color would be very dramatic, but you're the boss. Do whatever makes you feel good.

....For simplicity....use one color, yet the homes I have worked in.....cabinetry career, they all seem to have a different color and type of paint. The trim is wood, should accent the home and stand out. It does need more care than the walls. ...Unless your walls are wood siding. Take extra care in prep of the eaves (trim), use the best primer you can and the best paint you can. Weather is frightfully damaging. Paint IS a lot of work and personally I would use and apply the best that I can in order not to redo it less than 10 years

It looks nicer to have the contrast of 2 colors, or the color and either painted trim or wood trim.

It can go either way and most people have their own opinion. Keep in mind the furnishings that you will move into that room, if you have a piece of upholstery or an armrest you can take that along when you get paint samples.
Remember though, you are the one who has to live with it, consider others opinions, but do what you like.

Do as you wish. An accented trim is interesting to me. But all the same works if your furnishings/decorator items have a broad color range.

hey Julie, always paint the trim another color, a shade darker or lighter than the paint on the walls.

You don't have to. But coordinating trim and furnishings in homes looks good to me. Personal preferences rule though.

One color is fine but a constrast would be striking and interesting. Any excuse for accent is a good one.
