If you wash it in the washing machine prepare to have not only a shrunk coat, but a felted one as well. We live on a farm with sheep and as soon as wool gets wet it will shrink and felt if aggitated(washing). Most wool coats need a dry cleaner to clean them, even if there is a lining in them. Good luck, and don't ruin your coat!

AR-R-R-R-RGH!!!!!! You NEVER wash a wool coat in the washer - with or without the liner. Take it to the dry cleaners. Wool sweaters you can wash gently by hand, even if it says to dryclean only [they always come back in dreadful shape and the wool mattes], but never a wool coat or wool skirt or wool slacks.

Not really, it pretty much ruins the fibers if you put wool into a washing machine. It's best to take it to a dry cleaner or get that Dryell stuff that you use in the dryer.
