note: Panama canal in PANAMA not part of the USA so i would think not a tax burden for the americans anyways if the CN tower fell over and it was decided to be rebuilt do you think the americans would pay for that also? and how about the great wall in china? i would think not.....

no the us does not own or control the panama canal and over 1billion dollars has already been spent to modernize the canal

It is the Panamanian government that is expanding the canal. It is the major source of income for that country. U.S. taxpayers will not be burdened.

The people of Panama are paying for it. It has nothing to do with the US anymore.
We gave it back to them when most of our ships were too large to use it.
