Do I drink too much water?Is something wrong with me?
I don't know what's going on with me. I've been extremely thirsty and no matter how much water I drink i'm still thirsty afterwords. This is how much water I drink....
*MORNING(BEFORE BREAKFAST): 1 liter to 1 1/2 liter
*MORNING(AFTER BREAKFAST):2-3 20oz bottles to 1 1/2 litter of water.
*DURING LUNCH: 1-2 20oz bottles of water.
*AFTER LUNCH:2-4 20oz of water
* WITH/AFTER MY SNACK: 1 liter to 3 liters
*BEFORE DINNER: 1-2 18oz of water
*AFTER DINNER: 1-2 18oz of water
* BEFORE SNACK: 1-2 18oz of water
*AFTER SNACK: 1-2 18oz of water.
I don't even eat salty food. and each time I drink these amounts i'm still thirsty. I'm 16years old, 5ft 5inches tall and 111lbs.
***THE DOCTORS ALREADY TESTED ME FOR DIABETES BUT THEY SAID I'M JUST EXTRA THIRSTY AND THEY JUST LEFT IT AT THAT*** I'm just worried I guess.

The ham is both from HEALTHY CHOICE and the sodium is 210...better then 640 on regular ones.

I saw a program about this on Discovery Health. It was about the same "thirsty" problem. It took the girl on the program several years to be diagnosed, and she was miserable. She was diagnosed with Diabetes Insipidus. Look that up on the 'net. That is NOT like regular Diabetes 1 or 2. It's a separate illness that doesn't have anything to do with the amount of insulin your body makes, so don't freak out when I say "diabetes...".

I just saw a program on the Health Channel about a young lady who drank several gallons of water per day. She was always thirsty, had to urinate about every 45 min., couldn't get any rest because of getting up so often during the night. She felt really awful if she had to go without water for even brief periods of time. She was tested for diabetes and many other things, including a brain tumor. None of those. When they had her go without excessive water, she very swiftly declined to a dangerous degree. Turned out that due to a head injury she had suffered years before, a part of her system was damaged and she now had a hormone imbalance which prevented her kidneys from processing water properly. Once diagnosed, it was quickly remedied, but she went through years of doctor-hopping before that happened. If this sounds like you, having your hormone levels checked might help. I wish I could be more exact. I recorded the program Monday night, watched and erased it just last night. It was on a segment of the series called "Mystery Diagnosis" on the Discovery Health Channel.

You don't have to eat a lot of salt to be thirsty - but foods high in sodium will do it. You listed two ham sandwiches - ham is full of salt (sodium). One should have about 8 glasses of water a day - about 64 ounces and the truth is on can take in too much water. You might want to google that or go to Mayo.com and get the facts.

I would not be concerned if you have spoken to multiple doctors. If you only went to one, a second opinion may help calm your concern. You could also try getting your water from foods instead of just drinking it. This can be done through eating celery, iceberg lettuce, watermelon and other foods with a high water content. You could also try sucking on a hard candy to induce saliva flow in your mouth without drinking water. However, water is also good for you and if your body is craving it and there is no medical problem then I wouldn't be too concerned, just enjoy drinking the water =)

No, the greater desirable water flushes out water and sodium between different issues jointly with pollution. Your physique keeps greater desirable water while it quite is not on hand. So by no longer ingesting adequate you're quite gaining water weight by way of fact your physique is storing it. After 3-4 days of ingesting adequate your physique will start to flush out the surplus grant and you will see a weight drop of generally a pair kilos.

Do you live in a northern climate....meaning is it getting cold out? I've been experiencing the same thing now that fall is here and winter is fast approaching. Think about it: we had an extremely hot and humid summer and then over night wham fall/winter hits. Now its extremely dry....I woke up last night and down a bottle of water in like 3 mins b/c I was so dehydrated. Also, I had my heat on too which drys everything out too.
It's probably just b/c of the weather. I'm experiencing it too.

It is possible that you are flushing too much out of your system (like sodium and electrolytes). Are you taking any medication that may make you more thirsty? If it still bothers you, contact your doctor.
