Does anyone like to go? Do you ever ignore the notice and just not show up? if yes what were the consequences of not showing up?

It's a pain in the @$$, but at the same time, I try to remind myself that it's a privilege many other countries don't have.

Thanks for reminding me ... I have to report for jury duty Nov. 20! Ugh!

Strange that I was never called for jury duty until I became handicapped and was unable to serve. But if my health would not have hindered me I definately would have done my duty and served as needed.
What happens if you ignore your notice. I'm not really sure but let me know how you like serving time in jail as I do believe that would be the appropreate place where you would go for failing to show as it is a court order and I would assume that the judge would issue a warrant for your arrest.

Done it twice now, first time at the Old Baily and got a juicy case which was interesting but the second time at Southwark I spent 8 of the 10 days sitting in the canteen. If you're smart you can make a lot of money in expenses : )
If you don't show up you can be fined, not sure how much though

I have always enjoyed jury duty. And I have always perceived it as something that is a responsibility to be taken seriously.

I've served on two regular Juries and spent a month on the Grand Jury. I learned a great deal from the experiences, and I'll gladly serve again if I'm asked.

The first time I called and my number wasn't up so I didn't have to go and the second time I just said F. it and ignored it... Nothing happened...

If i was you I would go and make up some stupid reason on why you can't participate or you can act like you don't have good sense so they wont want you on the jury...

If you don't show up, they issue a bench warrant for your arrest. Trust me.

It's not bad to go. They pay you and it's your duty. As silly as that sounds. I mean, the govt builds roads, schools, puts out house fires - I can give them jury duty.

Well I sent the one I didn't go to back with a note saying that I was a student. The ones I went to all I can say is take a good book. I wasn't picked any of the times that I went. I think it's a total waste of time.

I don't "like" to go, but I do so because it's suppose to be our duty as Americans.

If one doesn't show....technically, they can issue a warrant for your arrest. However, to be honest, this is not often enforced in all locations.

No I hate too go. I have kids and am a stay at home mom so I can get out of it. Every year I get hit. I go every other year. You can get in trouble for not showing up.
