Assuming it's an equal partnership between a man and a woman...why should a man leave the seat down when he's likely to use it more than a woman?
Having said that, my wife trains me so well I always put the seat down afterwards...but that doesn't mean I think it's fair, mind you.

It is not gross. It is training for the females in the houshold to be very observant or get their buttocks wet. Some women complain, but it only takes a few seconds to put it down. 3 seconds out of a day or even 6 seconds, means a man is only doing this thing 6 out of 86,400 seconds in a day. That is such a small percentage, I don't even know where to put the decimal point. That doesn't sound bad to me. Farting must be way higher than that. The smell from a good fart may bother people for 60 to 90 seconds. And it would not just bother the next person to use the bathroom. It might bother 10 or 12 people in the room. It appears to be at least 100 times worse. So lets put this in its proper perspective. I could go on about blowing ones nose in the sink or scratching ones crotch, etc etc etc. All much worse

It is more gross for them to have left the seat down. Why be so picky? They at least showed the courtesy of lifting the seat. I would bet that you would even complain if they closed the lid and you had to lift it to go.
Actually the neutral position for the seat is down with the lid closed. In this position both sexes must do something before using the facilities. Then the gentlemen can complain if the lid was not closed, but a gentleman would not do such a thing.

What's even more gross is leaving the lid up.
1) Things can fall in.
2) No one wants to have a view inside the toilet unless they need to.

because they pee on the seat and its dirty. Also, its just rude...when you get something out of a cupboard or the refrigerator, do you leave the door open? No. just put it down! There are things you have to do just as common courtesty, like flushing the toilet, cleaning your house, brushing your teeth etc becuase we are human beings and should be held to high enough standards to say men can put the freaking toilet seat down when they pee. THEY put it up, THEY should put it down. its not that hard people. just do it.

We already spend the two seconds putting it as much as initiate with, does no longer it additionally take 2 seconds to place it down your self? I advise, you have already reported that putting the seat down in touch minimum attempt. i assume I do merely no longer understand the best judgment that adult adult males ought to be required to advance and decrease the seat, yet a girl might get disillusioned if she in easy terms had to accomplish a sort of strikes. in the experience that your male better half is undesirable at aiming, that's an entire different undertaking. while you're making it his duty to maintain the cleanliness of the bathing room, consistent with hazard it would advance his aim.

Mostly, at least to me, it is looking at all the driplets and drops of urine that are ALWAYS present on the rim bowl after a man relieves himself. That is what is gross. Now, a gentleman wipes them up, flushing the evidence away.

Because it is the same repulsive feeling we get when women forget to leave the seat up when they are done peeing. It's a crime against nature in either case dependent upon your gender...
