yes because your reeving the eng with no load on it. you could always be over reeving the eng witch is a good way to blow up your eng.

Most cars these days have rev limiters built in. Still not a good idea. At 3000 rpm the pistons are changing direction 50 times a second.How far do you want to push them.

I think not most cars have rev limiters built into the brain box. Ive held them down at the dealer i used to work at no damage

Only if you rev or continue to rev up the engine until it is screaming. Or, if you rev and slam into gear. Probably best not to do either of these and your car will survive a bit longer.
