Friday is my last day at my current job and I was wondering do you think I should do anything like bring something in to say good bye or to get some of my employees gifts and stuff..or should I just leave and be done with it, I really don't know..any ideas?

It depends on the situation...if you are moving away to a new area then take the time to get a few of the employees home addresses and phone numbers that you liked. If you are leaving for another job, keep it low keyed and do much the same thing. If you have been there for years and are retiring - then I would bring in some donuts or something like that for a special send-off to them, however, if you were appreciated they'll be doing that for you anyway. One job I left, was only there for three months, they all took me out to dinner and drinks, the CEO even flew in from across the country to say "good-bye" to me. I was moving several states away. Once again, depends on the situation.

I guess that depends if you enjoyed working there and liked the people. You could always bring in some doughnuts for breakfast or get a box of blank cards and write a small good-bye to everyone. Maybe a cake with something writen on it like "I'll miss you all, I wish you well".

How about having a small party for those people to remember the good times you have had at this job bring gifts for those who have really made a difference to you. Say a really good friend you made. You could bring cake to sweeten up your last days there. Good luck at your new job!!

Well, How long have you worked there? Do you like your boss and co-workers? Are the relationships worth the time and money it will take to get stuff? If you ask yes to these then go for it. But if you answer no then don't and don't feel bad either because they didn't make that big of a impact on your life if you can't answer yes to the questions above!!!

Have fun and don't worried cuz as one door closes at-least to will open. Good Luck

The answer to that question comes down to how close you are with them. If it was people that you became really close to, and hung out with outside of work, then I think you should go to dinner with them, and maybe give them a little something. If its a workplace where you never really bonded with anyone, and never became closer than coleigues, then I would just bring in something for everyone, like some food.

Best of Luck with the new job!!!

i´d love to be in your situation, honestly. I don´t like my job at all.
I think it would be a good idea if you get them something for lunch, like chinese food, or pizza. or maybe a cake. Or you can bake cookies and pack them (small packages 5-10 cookies each) and write something little on each package. Then you give each of your co workers and leave the place giving a firm step.

good luck

Personally, for those people I consider "friend," I might say a personal goodbye, maybe a small gift or card of thanks.

Otherwise I tend to look at employment as a transaction similar to buying a car: we negotiate a price for my services, I provided my services, the employer paid me, and now that transaction is ending...c'est la vie.

I'd say if you're leaving they should do something for you! However, if you feel you need to do something special you can always bring donuts and/or bagels for breakfast.

just throw them a mini party (cake chips, etc.) and tell them all how much you enjoyed working with them. That will leave them with a smile on their faces, and you get the comfort of knowing that you haven't burnt any bridges!
