reggaeton is becoming more and more popular, but theyres always plenty of old music thats interesting
turntablism and hip hop keeps getting better, bringing in more and more influnces such as reggae/dancehall (check out damian marley's CD) and talib kweli's new cd is gauranteed to be awesome
the roots game theory is AMAZING
more underground genres continue to evolve - jazz, the hundreds of forms of techno/drums and bass/electronica change from country to country
i hate emo music, its just like pop music that lost its helium high and is all depressed now, if you like that kindof stuff though check out bloc party and the yeah yeah yeahs

Red Dirt Music is getting really big now...It's a cross between Country and Classic Rock (think Lynryd Skynrd).
Try these out...

the new and exiciting music plays here regularly. Have you heard of Pachelbel? He predated Bach and his organ music is wonderful. Antoine Bouchard has at least 10 CD's of his music done already.
