Why do women have a "smell" even when there are no infections or anything else going on "down there"

people always refer to a fishy smell or needing to refresh down there half way thru the day, even clean women, no infections, no STD's - why is that?

i read that u should not use soap as it strips the natural bacteria that keeps the good balance and smell away. only water and sandpaper, or power grinder.....lol
oh and try drinking more water. water cleanses the body. also lemon and honey juices, in varieties also change the balance, for the better. try those

Women have a delicious smell "down there". Healthy, clean women have a natural scent that works as a pheromne to attract males. It doesn't mean that they are dirty or unhygienic at all. Abnormal smells may indicate an infection or lack of personal hygiene, but all women have a personal feminine scent that most men find extremely desireable. It's a "system" meant to make men find women desireable for mating. It seems to work well!!!

it is the natural smell a woman has, and i do believe a pheremone to attract males. women just need to pay special attention to gently washing down there to make sure they don't smell too much. i don't know what to do if a woman smells way too much, like if others can notice it. i've never heard of that or smelled anyone's vaginal odor before. maybe women are just paranoid.

there is no need for douches or sprays. they can be unhealthy.

if someone smells like a fish down there, then there is an infection going on, and the woman should go to her doctor or gyn.

Vagina is always going to smell like a vagina, no matter who the girl is or how often she washes. If she says it doesn't smell at all, she's kidding herself. Every girl has her own unique scent, but they ALL smell similar, like a vagina.
It is always best to have a shower and get cleaned up before sex as far as smell goes, but that goes for guys too. I'm sure you've noticed, guys testicles have their own smell as well., and it can get pretty strong at times. When a guy is turned on and ready to go, there's not a smell on the face of the planet better than the smell of a vagina.

It's a natural femine odor, some women have a light musty smell, some have a strong musty smell, if you smell ilke fish you do have some type of infection, even when you are on your cycle it is akward to smell like fish, if you have this odor check with a doctor, I thought it was normal that a friend of mine always smelled like fish, but she really had a yeast infection!!!

Some women do have a slight odor, but with regular showering/bathing as well keeping things trimmed up "down there" unless you have an infection, no odor should be noticeable. Let's face it, hair holds odors, no matter how slight, so the more au natural you are down there, the more au natural you'll smell.

It's just the nature of the beast. It's the scent of a woman. If it's not unpleasant, then it's fine. Think about buying fresh fish: It really shouldn't have much of a scent. Next time you eat sashimi, smell it. It smells fresh, clean and delicious.
