What I want to know is why professional footballers when they get a clear shot at goal decide to kick the ball at least at a 45 degree angle or more normally at a 80 degree angle and so straight over the net. They then put their head in their hands all confused, like god just intervened and prevented the goal. Overpayed idiots.

because they're either hopeless or weren't born in Brazil. The Brazilians know that if you see the goal, just hit the ball as hard as you can with plenty of follow through. It'll pretty much always go straight then! It's always said that English players lack the skills...I'd suggest they lack the basics.

it all depends on the placement of your non kicking foot and where you strike the ball and with what part of your foot you strike the ball with. if you do everything properly then you will hit the ball straight.
