Development is MORE THAN just economic growth. While development can include economic growth, it also deals with improving the quality of life of the people. It therefore includes such things as eliminating poverty, managing public health and improving the standard of education to name a few. Economic growth, on the other hand is an increase in the stock of wealth of a country such as more buildings, more machinery, more cars and the like.
