Marriage should not discriminate. It's as simple as that. If two consenting adults want to get married then it should make no difference whether they're MM, MF or FF. That's the only morally correct state of affairs.

S/sex unions are a civil matter, and the laws should be changed to allow for couples in union, to have the same rights of property and legal status no matter what the sexual orientation.
Marriage is A cultural issue that We Americans have clearly stated needs to be left alone.

I see no problems with it at all. It's about time Human beings were treated as equal regardless of sexual preference.
I mean.... if someones union with someone else has no bearing on a person, meaning they won't die from it, their kids won't die from it, who cares?! If it isn't harming them why do they have to raise such a huge stink about absolutely nothing?!?
Secondly, why don't people see the benefits of allowing Same sex marriages? They need a license right? That's money back to the state. Wedding Chapels? Money to the community. Dinner, cake, all the things that are planned for weddings will be bringing money BACK into our economy whereas before, it wasn't. To me, that's a plus. Having money circulating through the economy is just a good thing.

I don't give a cr*p if you approve or not, never have. I just feel that we should have the same rights everyone else has and when we do I will have nothing to complain about. I seriously doubt I would like you anymore than you like me. And by the way, elections cannot take away peoples constitutional rights, I believe there is more than one state that would vote to take away voting rights from blacks and other minorities but they can't so the election means nothing.

I am a Canadian and our laws here permit same sex marriages, however, many Canadians have difficulty, not with the acceptance of same-sex unions and the accompanying legal rights, but with the word "marriage" which has been viewed as belonging exclusively and having been developed for the heterosexual domain.
Personally, I believe that the world needs more loving unions, regardless of sexual orientation, not fewer.

I do not agree with it. This nation was founded on Christian principles. and it should stay that way. The government has no business doing stuff like this. Gay people can choose to be gay and live together and pretend to be married if they want. But, marriage is one man, one woman, as God inteneded it. But, this society has become quite dark and way apart from God. How long before they legalize some guy marrying a goat or a dead person. you know anything goes that a person wants, and expecting to be TOLERATED> The more this nation tolerates open sin and rebellion against GOD , the more this society will fall. Read the papers, Watch the news.... I rest my case. Now in Arizona is a new thing coming up to vote. If we vote against gay unions, and they lose their benefits, then anyone living together loses stheir benefits. Now, those are two different issues, and why has the law linked them together?? To force everyone living in open sin to vote ok on this gay stuff. Also, people that arent married, no matter what their sex, should not be entitled to the same benefits as maried people get. People want all the rights, without having anything they must give of themselves. what a selfish world in which we live today? what are any of us doing to get this nonsense to stop? Just a question we should all be asking of ourselves. When it gets to the point that gay people run everything and they are all allowed to molest our children, then what? Ever hear the creed of the homosexual agenda? Read up on this, itwill be an eye opener. And, have you ever hearad of the man-boy love group? Wanting sex with young children to become legal, so they can say that the child chose for himself to have sex. These are innocent children, and all those who preach tolerance to every kind of filth, will one day live in a society that is way worse than it is now. Praise God that He will rapture His true peoplle home before the great tribulation. Read the Bible and see whats ahead for you. You may not believe it, but what if you are wrong?????? HMM>

Do you remember what you were like when YOU were single?Do you really want a community as large as the gay/lesbian community to run around SINGLE! Does it really matter to me who you marry? Are you really interested in my home life? Isn't it all about being with someone to share life with, to take care of you when you can't and to care for someone other than yourself. Marriage brings with it a responsiblity and a homelife. LET'S JUST SETTLE DOWN! and Larry-get your head out.....

I think they're being cowardly. They don't want a mob of scythe-and-torch-waving conservative Christians hammering them about being THE ACTIVIST JUDGES WHO LEGALIZED SAME-SEX MARRIAGE!!! Basically, they're saying, "There's nothing wrong with it according to our constitution, but legislators, you can go ahead and *make* something wrong with it, if you like, or else take the blame yourselves." It's buck-passing. Which is still better than a flat "no".

Personally I don't care one way or the other on either side of this waste of taxpayers money and you people who have nothing better to do with yourselves when we have problems in society and within our government that are far more important to the American people. GET A LIFE!
