Death note. it has more suspense and a better, more indepth plot line. Plus, L is way cute!

Personally, although Death Note is a very intriguing manga/anime with a interesting plot that plays out well, I enjoy D.Gray-man slightly more. Some characters and the storylines may be cliché, but I find it more entertaining.

D. Gray Man. Because even though the anime is pretty new the manga is wonderful. The characters are great and there's humor within the seriousness.
The cosplay opportunities are also wonderful with the diverse characters. /cosplay fantacism.
