Here in Salt Lake City, there's a Christmas fundraiser called "Festival of Trees", which benefits a local children's hospital. You submit a tree which is auctioned off, and the proceeds go to the hospital. I'm submitting a tree, and I'm going to use only diet coke cans and lights to decorate it. Please help me come up with the ideas for cutting, folding, or punching the cans and manipulating them into stunning decorations! Be descriptive - you can even email me at Lmevans79@yahoo.com if you want to submit a sketch or photograph. Thanks!

Try the little half cans of pop they sell and make little drums out of them. I would think if you can cut the can lengthwise in several areas and bend out the metal midway that would work. Be careful though as cans can be very sharp.

Try making the leaves out of the cans by stencling an outline on the tin of the can. then hot glue them from top to bottom making them look like a christmas tree! that would be so cool!

Since they are diet cans, why not shape them into the torsos of people and add limbs and heads. You couls have them all being active in some way-lifting wieghts, yoga, riding a bike.

Good luck!

Don't you think such ornaments might traumatize children who are being treated for cuts received from jagged aluminum cans?
