Ouch, he could mean casual, which would include jeans, or he could mean business csual, which includes slacks.

I woudl recommend wearing slacks at furst until you get a feel of the actual attire of the place. It would better to be over dressed than under dressed

As you'll be visiting different companies around town(s), I would stick to business casual for your first visit to each customer, with more of a stress on business rather than casual. After your initial meeting, let the company you'll be visiting dictate your business casual vs. casual attire. For example, if you'll be visiting a law office, definitely business casual on all visits. But if you're visiting the local music store, casual attire is okay. Hope it helps and best of luck!

On the first day, dress in something "business casual" like khakis. Then, you can see what everybody else is wearing. If everyone is wearing jeans, you'll know for the next day.

Jeans are include in casual wear, but only if they are of dark or light denim wash with no trendy details, but a nice blouse still has to be worn.

Business casual - no jeans, no t-shirts with writing on them, and no sneakers. A nice pair of dockers and a nice sweater, blouse, or shirt, and casual shoes.

Yeah, as long as your jeans are nice and presentable, you can wear them to work. By the way, congrats on the new job and I hope you'll have fun!

He may have meant "casual", which would include jeans, or "business casual" which does not. You'd have to ask specifically which he meant.

Slacks and a nice blouse. Don't wear jeans unless you see others wearing them.
