most Fox viewers watch Fox and Fox alone for their news. The actually have very little news. Their news in and of itself is probably for the most part fair and balanced. The problem is that 90% or more of Fox air time is opinions. And of course it is obvious to all that they are one sided opinions.
Many other viewers, liberals in particular, get their news from a variety of sources including Fox. They then weigh the information, research further, and are more able to formulate a more informed point of view.

Named by whom?
I think the Fox viewers are the most informed, and T.V. ratings support that claim. Although Fox is considered a Republican, or Conservative station it is the only news station that mixes programming with shows hosted by Conservatives, and others by Liberals, and therefore offer a different view on the same subject that's why they call themselves "fair and balanced".

It is not the fault of Fox News. They discovered that there was a significant audience of intellectual and emotional cripples who see everything in terms of an "us versus them" sporting event and who believe the function of a news organization is to make them comfortable in their ignorance and act as a cheerleader for their 'team.'. They have simply exploited that market.

Fox is owned by a stout republican and is considered a very one sided media source.. much like the Washington Post (to give both sides there)
