Okay so I have a big problem with pants/jeans!!! I'm 14 weeks pregnant and my belly is the same size as someone I know who is 24 weeks pregnant. I can't wear my regular pants because they come too high, the thighs, hips, everything fits..but it won't even come close to buttoning or zipping. I can't wear the low rise pants because every single pair show my crack, which is gross. The thing is is that I was a 1/2 before I got pregnant......All the maternity pants I've seen start at small....which is a 4, and they don't fit!!!! They're huge in the legs, hip and below butt area. I don't know what to do, I don't want to wear sweat pants all the time! I've found 1 pair of maternity pants at old navy which were a extra small which are still somewhat big in the legs.......I have not many maternity stores around me besides jcpenny's maternity or wal-mart......that's it. Can someone help!!!

I'm small too- (about 90 lbs, 5 ft the first pregnancy) I found this elastic band that had buttons on it and then I would wear a really long/big shirt so I didn't have to zip up- sorry- I know that probably sounds terrible but the elastic- button thing kept the pants up. This also helped right after I had my babies- my stomach didn't fit into the regular pants the first couple weeks but I didn't need to wear maternity pants anymore-- hope this helps!- stephanie

OK so I have a some what of a cheap and easier way to get maternity pants. I had a friend who had to do this. Go to the store, find regular pants ( that you would normally wear) that fit you the way you want in the legs and can fit over your hip comfortably. Does not matter if the pants are long either. Then you cut across the pants (where the zipper ends and get the material for maternity pants (go to your local fabric store) and sew the material ti the pants. If the legs are to long on the pants you can bring them up as well. Maternity pants are sooooooooo expensive sometimes. But if you can find a pair of regular pants for 1/2 the price and alter them then you have spent your money well.

At your local walmart be sure to check the waist bands. At my walmart the maternity pants had elatic strips with buttons on the inside where you could "resize" the pants. They may be big in the legs but trust me comfort during pregnancy is so much more valuable than fashion. you could also try just buying larger size pants. I wore up to a size 14(im a 7/8) before I started wearing maternity clothes. Not to mention wearing my hubby's clothes. LOL

WOW must be nice!! Not to be able to find big enough pants in a 2!!!!! anyways, have you tried on line maternity pants, order them from on line, google search maternity pants and see what will pop up, they do have jeans that have elastic around them, you may want to try that, you don't want them to tight, when you eat you will expand, and jean don't like to give to much! also try the children section, i know this sounds strange, but children have a lot of elastic pants, just get the older kids close, you very tiny they may have something, just cause your pregnant does not mean you HAVE to wear maternity clothes

I found my extra small maternity jeans with the full stretch belly front @ JCPenny. They also have those belly bands which you can try on a BabiesRus, that advertise that you can still wear you prepregnancy jeans, just not buttoned. But I haven't tried them.
And those maternity pants with the short band all the way around down work very well for me they constently slide down my slim hips. I have to buy any of my pants with the full front.

I know exactly were your coming from. I hate the way maternity pants are done. What I did was just to buy larger sized pants. (I work in a office setting so it was a little harder for me to do sweats all the time.) I just tried them on to make sure that they fit me ok and that was about it. That's about all you can really do until you are large enough to fit into maternity pants.

Hello,
Here's what i did.... Depending on whether or not you will be wearing long maternity shirts or not....Let's say you will be wearing long shirts;I just wore my regular jeans, don't zip them. Tuck the the two corners (that won't meet to zip) tuck them into the inside of your jeans...toward your belly. No one ever has to know because your shirt will cover all of this. Hopefully you have some booty to hold your jeans up in the back!! That was never one of my issues. This will save you money and save you from being a fashion misfit for 9 months with those sweatpants.

I'm small too (5"2, size 2), 16 weeks, and I've been wearing my reg jeans with a rubberband through the hole and around the button...lol. There's also a device called a "belly band" that goes around reg pants to hold them up and keep your crack from showing, haha. You can get them at Motherhood. I also just wear longer shirts now. BTW...feel lucky to be small and have nothing to wear. Better that than the other problem, right? :)

If your prepregnancy pants still fit everywhere else, you should get a Bella Band. They are available online here:
http://www.duematernity.com/bellaband.html
The Bella Band is like a big stretchy tube that you can wear over your unzipped prepregnancy clothes to make them last longer or over your maternity clothes while the waists are still too big.
Best of luck for an easy pregnancy!
