Nope, it s not belonging to Russia anymore (became independent in 1989), it was Europe s last dictatorship (until 2004) and still can t really be considered a comfy place to be, recently there have been riots there and the police is world famous for being corrupt and particularly brutal.

Well I keep hearing that they are having problems with the government which is too bed because I really want to go. My husband is Russian and has friends there. He said the people are extremely hospitable. I want to go because I used to like to look at pictures of it in National Geographic and later in travel magazines. I remember reading about how old the people there live too. They are some of the oldest people in the world.
I have also tried some nice Georgian wines recently and my husband makes some georgian stews that are great.
