Mary Joe Fernandez was a talented player, but lacked the strength to dictate play. Her forehand was considered average on tour and not of the same caliber as the elite players. However she showed good mechanics on her backhand, often played high percentage tennis (better shot selection than her opponents), and was willing to grind out a match if she had to. Although I don't think she was the best player never to win a grandslam event, she is in the conversation. I think Amanda Coetzer, who reached a career high of # 4 in the world in 1997 and finished #11 in the world twice was a little bit better player and she never won a grandslam either. I remember that Jana Novotna won Wimbledon near the end of her career. So I would vote for Coetzer.

Mary Joe whooo ??? Mary Joe Fernandez NEVER EVER knew how to play tennis. If she would to play today, the way she did 15 years ago, she would be ranked 10945. She got lucky & got in at the right time, when u could be in the top 10, just by holding the tennis racquet. I remember one tennis commentator saying, some lousey women tennis players were/are or show up at the right place at the right time. Though, she is a good commentator, but as of tennis she was a ZERO.

I would be hard pressed to agree. Mary Joe was good, but to use her as the "best" anything is a stretch....even if it is the "best of the worst," know what I'm saying.
Having said that, I am trying to think of a player that hasn't won a title yet or, never did, and then trying to rank them against her. I'm having a little trouble thinking of a better player that never won a major. Until recently, I definitely would have said Mauresmo, but she's come into her own in the last 2 years. I'll deliberate and update this post if I come up with something.

Not even close -Andrea Jaeger was a better player with a better overall record, as well as statistically better in a number of ways.
Several players on the men's tour (Miloslav Mecir, Marcelo Rios, Todd Martin, to name a few) also fall into that category.

i decide for Novak to win Wimbledon via fact that he's not very solid on grass and he has a greater efficient threat on the different slams yet another year, so if he can get in basic terms one someway then he stands a much greater efficient threat at a occupation slam. i do no longer think of i in my view care which significant Wozniacki, as long as she wins one, yet she likes grass lots and it may be wonderful if she ought to beat a Williams interior the in basic terms top too for her very own self belief, so i'm going to assert Wozniacki to win Wimbledon against Williams!
