You got that information from in an email, right?

It is a spam and scam email that is trying to get your personal information. You can disregard the email and delete it. What they are trying to do is to get you to click on those links on the email to get to their site with the look and feel identical to those of paypal. If you don't pay close attention to the URL, you would really think that you are on Paypal web site. If you put in your log on information and personal information, those scammers would get your all your personal information.

nope, it's not a valid ip address. one of the numbers is 905, the maximum a number in an ip address can be is 255.

if you mean 24.95.2.6, then the ip is owned by the time warner 'road runner' internet service provider and is/was being used by one of their customers - the only way you can find out more is by contacting rr.com directly and reporting the matter to them.

24.95.2.6 resolves to...
mta-24-95-2-6.ddns.twcny.rr.com

which at this precise time is being used by someone roughly in the area of rochester near new york - that's not to suggest however that it is the same person that was using that ip address when you logged it.

you should report it both to the owner of the ip address at::
http://www.rr.com/

and foward a copy of the email to:
spoof@paypal.com

it's also a possibility that if you got it from a scam email the machine on that ip address has been hacked and is now being used as a relay to send phishing emails with the computer owner being completely unaware their computer has been comprised.

I checked the IP address you gave but it is not a valid address. However, there are 2 websites I recommend if you want to investigate any IP addresses in the future. Both are easy to use and reliable. You might want to bookmark them for future reference.

1. IP Address Locator Tool (http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm?GetLocation)

2. Network Query Tool (http://noc.nekesc.org/nqt.php)
