I think it might be King Louis XIV, but I'm not sure. The 5 positions of the feet refers to the positions one does in ballet today...just back then the turn-out we do today wasn't yet enforced.
please help! need to know for a midterm and I can't find the answer anywhere!

That is because there is no answer. No ONE person came up with the idea of ballet. No ONE person created the 5 positions, and anyone who tells you otherwise is kidding themselves.

I googled it in German... the name of the person was Katariina di Medici.
