Washington was not the first President of the United States. The REAL first president was a black man by the name of John Hanson..If you go looking in the encyclopedia for this his name, there is a slim chance that you will find anything... he is long lost to history.
When the Articles of Confederation were signed in 1781, a president needed to run the country. John Hanson was unanimously by the congress (including George Washington). During his short time as president, Hanson established the Great Seal of the United States and the first Treasury Department.
