The movie--if you've seen it did you think it was scary?

No. I jumped a few times, but all in all I was disappointed. I thought it strange that these brilliant life forms from another planet would travel to earth, a planet that is 3/4 water, which is their number one enemy.

A family living on a farm finds mysterious crop circles in their fields which suggests something more frightening to come.

To be perfectly honest, the trailer gave a lot of hype into this "they're coming" pretense that was supposed to be so scary, that you were compelled to go see it in theaters. Well, you end up getting what could have waited for a rental because you don't see much of the alien and what you do see is quickly taken away because of the lack of special effects used. Most of the movie is dialogue between Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix, his son and keeping the family from being so afraid.

The alien glimpses you do see are powerful just for the short time you get to see them. Then, it is back to seeing the humans (no focus on what the aliens look like). So you don't have enough time to get scared. I think I screamed out loud once just because I didn't expect to see the darn thing. Then when you see it again, you're like...oh, that's just like what "rag" magazines show.

Zzzzzzzzzzzz.....

I saw this one in the theatre and I've never screamed during a movie but when that hand came out from under the door I screamed like a little girl!

Yes I thought it was scary. All of Nights movies have frightened me.

Not scary like I screamed during the movie. Scary because, what if it could really happen?

I loved SIGNS, M. night shamlayan is one of my favorite directors... It was a movie full of suspense, you get goosbumps everytime you see it.. a must see.. If aliens freak you out then dont watch this movie, but if u are in the mood for a good movie, with good directing and writing then this is the movie....Dont watch the Village by Shamalayn, it was a dissapointment.. you wont regret watching this movie! ciao

Not so much scary as startling. I really thought it was just about "feelings" and his withdrawal from the church, until they showed the video on the Spanish channel (when Joaquin Phoenix is in the closet watching).

Yeah. Especially the last part when the alien crashed into the house and got the boy in its arms.

Freaked the heck out of me. But after i realised what happened I was quite sad.
