Is is officially recommended for children to sleep in there underwear or without there underwear.
Or adults even? Seems to have divided opinions amongst parents. wondered whether there is any medical or official sway for either?

Any Ideas?

i dont think it matters as long as they're changed regular. my son sleeps in his pants, but my daughter prefers to sleep in a nighty. as long as clean underwear is worn everyday then i cant c a problem. cool question tho!

I honestly don't know if there is any 'official' advice on this. But my personal opinion - why not just sleep naked? After all, its often the only time you get a chance to not wear any clothes, let the air get to your skin, as long as you have sheets or a duvet you won't get cold, and its the most comfortable way to sleep coz you don't get tangled up in your pj's or nightie. It is also good for you 'down below', as as is unnatural to wear pants/clothes all the time. I think sleeping naked is much more comfy and more healthy than wearing pj's or underwear.

Why should they need to wear underwear if they have had a bath and clean pyjamas or nightie? If the child is very young a nappy or training pants might be needed but otherwise, no.

I personally dont put underwear on my son, i think his skin needs time to breatheand air, unless you are doing it for bed wetting purposes. for girls the disadvantage might be that wearing knickers or briefs could make her a little more prone to sweating and in the area of the vagina this might, in theory at least, increase the risk of developing the fungal infection candida (thrush). I would say to let your child wear whatever he/she feels most comfortable in during the night, both now and when they gets older

I never wore underwear under my pj's or nightie when I was a kid. No need really.

Still don't wear any - pj's, nighties or underwear lol

'Officially' recommended by whom? The pyjama police?

Most people put their kids to bed in bedclothes. Why would they need underwear too?

how old is the child? if bedwetting is a concern, then underwear with diaper is needed. otherwise, let your kid decide.

I don't think thee is any "Official" position on this.
Let them wear whatever they're comfortable wearing.
