Complex carbohydrates.... Yes, pasta is a good source. However, trail mix would also supply additional fats and proteins to suppress hunger and give even more energy.

A good amount of complex carbs balanced with some high quality proteins. During the race a delicate balance of glucose, sodium, and potassium. Oh yea plenty of water, but not too much.

Anything with a low GI index. I don't know these foods off be heart, but look up GI index on google and that'll tell ya. Basically foods with a low GI index release thier energy slower in your body, therefore giving you more stamina, it is more complicated than that, but that's it in a nut shell

A peanut butter sandwich with a glass of milk. Peanut butter=protein. Bread=carbs and energy. Milk=calcium (plus it fills you up more than water).

Gatorade or even Pedilite gives the best electrodes for your body. Dont really want food, that will weigh you down while running.

Foods with lots of protien. Dirnk a protien shake, eat protien bars, peanut butter........ Those types of things will make a big difference and it will give you more energy! :o)

Whole grain pasta with lean chicken and tomato sauce with vegetables. And ton's of water to drink!
