Any physical recording media deteriorates so the sound quality goes down, and even then the original recording is not the same as the original. And every time it's played live it's totally different.
Also listeners age, their hearing deteriorates and their wisdom changes. New people who hear it for the first time have a different perspective.
With any sound you need a source, a media and a receiver. Since all physical entities, as well as our emotional/intellectual perspectives are constantly changing. The song does not stay the same.
