If you mean what integer, the answer is nine hundred, ninety nine thousand, nine hundred ninety nine.

If you mean what real number, there is no answer. Regardless of what number someone says, there is always another number between that and 1 million. If someone says, 999,999.999999999
I could say 999,999.9999999995, for example.

And if someone says 999,999.9999... recurring, that actually *equals* 1 million, so it isn't before.

Yeah If You Mean The Integer/ Whole/ Counting Number It Would Be 999,999. But Also As They Said It Would Be 999,999.999 Repeating, I Think. And I Don't Think It Would Equal 1 Million Because You Would Have To Add Like 1/Intinityeth To 999,999.999 (Repeating Infinity Times) To Get 1 Million.

In addition to the numerous other answers already given, all negative numbers also come before one million.

1 million is: 1,000,000
Therfore 1,000,000 minus 1 = 999,999

That includes all the whole numbers, but in theory there is not a single number that comes before "a million" - there are 999,999 REAL numbers (and of course infinate decimal and minus numbers).

Hope that answers your question

999,999

Beyond a million there are long scale and short scale systems for classifying a billion, trillion, etc.

A Million is standard though - are you getting confused with the different possible amounts for a billion in different countries/systems?
