weight is based on gravity...
no matter what it would still have mass...
but without gravity it wouldnt have a weight
and with gravity, depending on how strong the gravitation pull is its weight could fluctuate

It doesn't matter. Weight is a force generated by the acceleration. In our case gravity which is a function of the mass of the planet. Spinning or not the mass is always the same. Now the only change will be density. Because of the rotation a spinning earth is less dense than a static earth.
#1 If Earth would stop spinning we will be crushed to death!
The mass of the earth pulls our bodies in. The spin (rotation) provides the centrifugal force that pushes us out and keeps Earth gravity from crushing us.
In a hypothetical situation. If Earth were to stop spinning;
#1 We all die.
#2 The pressure of the plate tectonics over the magma will cause multiple volcanoes to erupt and earthquakes.
Not a pretty sight!
In the other hand, if the rotation were to speed up, then we would weight less. It would take less fuel for cars to run airplanes to fly and rockets to launch.

For goodness sake:
THE SPIN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GRAVITY.
In fact, the spin makes someone at the equator weigh slightly less than if he stood at the pole.
If the Earth didn't spin, most of us would weigh slightly more - milligrams

In theory a spinning earth would weight as much as a still earth since mass is independent of spin. In practice, if the earth had to stop spinning suddenly, then it would be subject to extremely large tidal forces, which could tear it apart, so there would be very little left to weight ... :-) ... LOL

Do you mean would objects on the earth weigh less? Actually the centrifugal force of the Earth's rotation pushes things upward, so things would weigh more if it stopped spinning.

im pretty sure that.... weight is caused by gravity which is caused by the planet spinning i think mass comes into it somewhere too as well as how fast its spinning. so if this is true then no it wouldn't weigh anything. not unless it was sat on a set of scales in someones bathroom on a great big **** off planet

Weight is the force experienced by mass in a gravitational field. Since the earth is floating in space it has no weight, but it does have mass; therefore weight can change but mass stays constant (ignoring the tiny gains from meteors, losses from atmosphere escaping into space, and relativistic effects of its motion).
We would have 1/3 of our earthly weight on Mars, 1/6 on the moon, and nothing in orbit, but obviously we have the same amount of stuff in our bodies no matter where we are.

No, it won't weigh anything even if it would still have mass it won't have weight. The weight of a body is as a result of gravitational pull in a gravitational field, the earth does not experience a gravitational pull and as such has no weight.
