You set your Fax program as one of your printers and then anything you want to fax you select the print option and choose your fax as the printer.

if you don't have a program called Winfax,you can fax a Word doc by going into File/Send to/Receipent using a fax modem and follow the fax Wizard

1. You will need a dial-up modem
2. Connect your phone line to the modem
3. Open your Word Document
4. Click on File, Send To, Receipient Using a Fax Modem

It works well, you can either download their software or just upload your file to their website and they will fax it for you.

It does cost, however, the first 30 days are free, you have to provide a credit card when signing up, and it's around $10/mo I believe to send faxes.

if u have a hardware attachment,just scan the file to ur disk,and follow instructions to fax it.Some machines do not need to scan too.....u just have to place the document in that,and fax it,with the relevant software.If u dont have a scanner or a faxer,u need to get that doc scanned onto a cd,install a faxing software,which is available for free wen u search for it,and fax the doc on cd with its help.
