My son was the exact same way. I think he was almost 7 or 8 months old before I could get him to spend any time on his tummy. He rolled over really early, at 4 weeks, but just refused to do it as he got older. Anyhow, he eventually out-grew it. He crawled at about 9 months, walked at 11 months, and seems to be doing great now at 15 months.
Not sure if it's related, but my son is also a super big eater. And he had a big head. I always thought that he always thought he was hungry, so he didn't like being on his tummy. And his head was heavier than others, so it took him longer to grow into being able to move it around. He's just a bigger baby, so he was slower to move. So maybe, if your son has either of those things going for him, that might have something to do with it.
If you get really worried, you can ask his doctor. But I'd give him a couple more months to figure it out.

My son is also 5 months old. He hated being on his stomach no matter where it was, on the floor, on the bed. He has not turned over either. He has always been able to spin himself in circles and loves being in his jumperoo. And until recently refused to stay on his tummy. His Dr told me when I informed him he hated tummy time to ease him into it slowly, lay with him, talk with him, play with him not to just put him on the floor and walk away. Some babies need the extra "support" and want to be at eye level with others so get on the floor with him. It worked for my little one. But like I said he's not rolled over and I'm told "its okay he may never but he is perfectly fine"

I have a 8 month old and he also hated "Tummy Time". He would cry wine and throw a fit. But, I couldn't give up on it, because that's the only way his neck muscles would properly develop. Believe it or not, he's 8 months now and he is rolling, and can stand up while holding onto the couch. It will take time but your baby will also get the hang of things.

tummy time is sooooo important in an infants physical development. it helps in gaining control of his head and neck as well as all the other muscles and will benefit him when he is ready to roll over and crawl....don't give up! try putting special toys down for him to look at and attempt to reach for. also you may want to start off slowly at first....have tummy time for maybe 3 minutes or whatever he can handle and slowly increase it each day until he gets used to it. hope this helps! good luck!

It's probably too soon for him to be crawling. Most kids are rolling over by this point, one way, but i've known perfectly normal kids who did not roll at this age. Ask your pediatrician just to be sure, but don't worry....it's too soon.

Don't worry. It is not his time. Kids do things at different times. Because one kid does it, it doesn't mean all kids should do it at the same time. So, do nothing, don't force him. Be happy and enjoy being with him. He will do every thing at his own time. Soon enough he is walking around your house and you wonder why you were worry over nothing!

There's nothing wrong now, but there could be later on if he doesn't learn to be on his stomach because his muscles won't develop properly.
Try putting him on his stomach and distracting him so he forgets he is on his belly. He'll see that being on his stomach isn't that bad, and he'll be okay with it.

I don't think so. It's probably just his young personality shining thru. But, when you go for his 6 month check up, bring it up to your doctor.
