Yes, Leaving home is not just a physical act. It is the portal to emotional and psychological change that is the establishment of who you are as a person, a test of your learned values, your life skills abilities, and the gateway to your own sense of self/success/ and personal growth. Remember, however, that if home was a loving place ....it will remain so and be a safe haven in the midst of a storm......not to return to, but to seek encouragement

Yes, it means taking responsibility like having to pay your own rent, or if you have enough money to buy a home of your own, paying off the mortgage. It also means having to cook your own meals, clean the house, pay the bills, take out the garbage, etc etc. On the brighter side it means staying up all night and not have anyone tell you to turn off the light, watching whatever TV shows you want or listening to your kind of music and best of all, having the bathroom all to yourself, that is of course, if you are completely on your own and don't move in with anyone else. As you can see, there's a little bit of good about it and a little bad also.

Of course! It is a life changing step that involves flipping the mental 'switch' that allows you to finally take the decision-making controls of your own life! It was mind-blowing when I moved across town from my parents into my own home. That first night alone I cried between phone calls to all my friends, who told me how great it was and how jealous they were that I was out on my own. All I wanted to do was go sleep in my own bed at my parent's house! It took a few days for me to realize that the 'apron strings' hurt both parties when they were cut, but it does get better. and better, and better, then GREAT!
God bless!
