Give out candy! It's the one time of year when the kids should be able to eat some candy without adults looking down on them.

I made Halloween fortunes this year that will be handed out with stickers and plastic Halloween rings. You can lay it out on a word type program and drop in some Halloween clip art. I put three fortunes per 8.5 x 11 page (but you could do 9 per page or more if you wanted and then just cut them with a paper cutter). Print them out on orange and green paper and roll them into individual scrolls, tied with ribbon of the opposite halloween color or twine. I included fortunes, halloween jokes, and a spooky famous quote. Here are some examples:
Halloween Fortunes:
A Name on the Wind, A Face from the Past,
A Voice long un-heard shall be heard at last!
Watch what you Say, Mind what you Do,
For there is Someone watching you!
Halloween Jokes:
Why didn’t the skeleton cross the road?
He didn’t have the guts.
How can you tell when windows are scared?
Answer: They get shudders.
Spooky Quotes:
Death may be the greatest of all human blessings. –Socrates (BC 469-399)
The dream of reason produces monsters. –Francisco Goya (1746-1828)
All say, "How hard it is that we have to die,"a strange complaint to come from the mouths of people who have had to live. –Mark Twain (1835-1910)

I've always just done candy before, but this year I am making goodie bags with halloween stickers and halloween foam shapes. I am however, putting one piece of candy in each bag. I just wanted to cut down on the sugar, but I guess I don't want to completely ruin halloween.

candy is usually the idea thing for halloween...the whole point of trick or treating is to get the free candy. dont give out nutritious stuff because then (like the other girl said) they might just tp ur house or something.. id say, as an alternative, give them caramel popcorn balls (u can get at walmart) or (if you have the money to buy them with) those little mini cans of soda or those little things of koolaid because they get pretty thirsty out there trick or treating. i remember when i was little there would be atleast 1 house giving away drinks or something..i liked that.
good luck! happy halloween!

They have halloween size bags of goldfish, pretzels that are cute. Other ideas are gift certificates to Dairy Queen, Dunkin Donuts. McDonald's sometimes has a booklet of coupons you can buy, not sure if they have them this year.

Popcorn balls are always a great hit. You can also give out Halloween mini puzzles, and tons of cheap favors you can buy at Wal-Mart.

Go to one of those warehouse clubs or even a supermarket and get those big bags of individually bagged pretzels or popcorn. I think there are 12 in a bag/case.

Tabs of acid, ectstacy, beer, your phone number, weekend passes to the amusement park, kind nugs, small daggers, 9mm bullets, gold dollars, lighters, eggs (for your house) ect. Be creative. Moral of the story - Kids are expecting candy, they don't get it, you'll get a trick.
Happy Halloween!!!
