Specifically, you know you should do something because it'll be good for you or you'll get something good out of it. But, something happens and you talk yourself out of doing it.

What was it that you talked yourself out of?

And, if you finally did it, what did you do to finally "untalk" yourself out of doing it?

And, if you never did it, do you regret not doing it?

I would like to quit smoking, but I seem to talk myself out of it. I did try a few times and like the benefits of not smoking, but for some reason I just go back to it. I'm going to try again soon and hopefully quit for good. Of course I regret going back to it.

Staying in the Army back in 1974. I got out because I thought I
had a Postal Job waiting for me but they took me off the list 5
months earlier for some reason. Then when I tried to go back
in the service 9 months later I couldn't pass the hearing test so
I couldn't get back in. I would have had it good and would have
been retired with 20 years back in 1990. Instead it has been a
struggle because I was an Army Brat for the first 18 years of my
life and it's hard to adjust to civilian life.

Going to law school. I have dabbled in law (drafted my own divorce papers at the local law library----the divorce cost me nothing and the judge applauded my expertise. I also do immigration papers, love to research legal codes on tennant issues, research medical informaton in my merk manual etc. But I fear that an old DUI record will deny me the opportunity to attend school... Additionally I havent the finances to do so; and Im sure that my previous student loan default will be a setback. I would really like to do this..it will always be a dream

flirting back w/a guy that i reallllly liked and thought was cute.

i didn't, b/c he lived on my hall in the dorms and i'd already had a negative experience with someone else in that situation the year before, and i didn't want to get hurt again.

b/c i didn't, though, i will always regret it. that's the thing in life! i'd much rather regret the things i did than the things i didn't do! (i have sooooo many regrets about things i didn't do.)
