These answers are correct. But, let me tell you from experience that having unprotected sex even on your period can lead to pregnancy. Sometimes those eggs just pop.

The more accurate question is actually "how many days *before* your period can you get pregnant?" Most women ovulate 12-16 days before their period and within individual women, this rarely fluctuates by more than a day or so. You are most fertile in the days leading up to and including ovulation because sperm can survive in your reproductive tract for up to 5 days, but the egg has a very short life span. You can learn to determine when you are actually ovulating by charting your basal body temperature and monitoring the quantity and quality of your cervical mucous. You should try 12-15 days after your period. My doctor said 14 was the magic number so start a few days before and go for a few days after. I have a 28 day cycle so it worked for me.

Exactly 15 days AFTER the first day your period starts. If you start on the 10th, you can get pregnant on the 25th. You have about a week opening.

You can get pregnant anytime, but you are most likely to get pregnant during ovulation (about 2 weeks after your period).

If your cycle is a regular 28 days then around the 14th day is the day of ovulation. If your cycle is longer or shorter you can adjust the calculation either way, but it will not be so accurate.

It is different for everyone depending on your cycle. The only real way to know is to chart your cycle. I have a 25 day cycle and I ovulate on day 10 or eleven.
