This cannot be a serious question. Canada is a soverign Commonwealth Nation. We gained our independence from Britain in 1867. It belongs to each and every citizen of Canada.DUH!!

Canada is a sovereign nation, and we do not belong to another country. We have our Independence but for tradition we have the queen as head of state. Still Canada is independent and is divided in provinces and territories.

Originally it belonged to the First Nations (Aboriginals) before they were forced into residential schools so that Europeans could obtain many resources without hinderance and destroy their culture.
