Is there a way to change your connection speed?for example i am downloading a program with 57kbps speed and i want to increase the speed without using download accelerator but manually..does it damage the modem/computer and does it work temporarily or permanently?

You could either upgrade your internet connection speed or buy a program like Onspeed to speed up your connection.

You could also try the following registry edit.

However please be aware that improper registry edits can cause adverse affect on your PC. Any reg mod's is done solely on the user's head.

The speed is governed by the modem or ADSL you are using.
The condition of the cables from your exchange also has a lot to do with it.

You can't unless you buy a better package through your ISP. Are you using Dial-up? If so, that is the fastest you can go (it's actually 56Kbps).

if you are using dial-up, that is as fast as you are going to get. upgrade to broadband.
