It is cold where I live and I will be having a ceremony for my daughter's baptism and a party at my house afterwards to celebrate on Nov. 4th. I bought a really cute dress for the occasion but I am torn if I should wear panyhose or none? Would I look stupid in 40 degree weather if I didn't? I need helps ladies!

well the dress is kind of off white/ strapless and it has like black lace around the waste. Really cute, and I was going to wear black shoes, but I was thinking of the peep-toed shoes since they are so cute, how would that look with panyhose? and would i wear my skin color or black?

How short is the dress? Can you get away with knee highs? In the summer, I leave my legs bare with all dresses and skirts - I think pantyhose with sandals is tackier than bare legs. But in the winter, if I wear a shorter dress or skirt, I wear pantyhose. If my dress or skirt is ankle length - I wear knee highs (I really hate pantyhose - they make me feel like a sausage). Are you wearing sandals or closed toe shoes? As I've said - I don't think sandals should be worn with pantyhose at all. If you're wearing closed toe shoes, then wear pantyhose. I don't think you'd look stupid if you didn't wear pantyhose - but you might look cold.

If you're wearing peep toe shoes - I've seen pantyhose that don't have a seam in the toes (that's what makes them look tacky with open toed shoes). Try to find those, then get them in either your skin tone or black.

Just my opinion and the way I do things. LOL

Anytime a lady wears classy dress or business dress attire she should be wearing panty hose regardless if it's 40 degrees or 140 degrees, no one wants to see bare legs, that's tacky.
