You know men quite a few straight men are homophobic. But I think the issue is that he feels threatened by the "closeness" you feel towards your friend - gay or not, he's a male and that's enough to make a man feel threatened, you dig? Perhaps you need to stop talking about how "cool" your friend is maybe it makes your husband feel insecure. . - if you see him at work and you guys kick it . . leave your relationship with him "at work" --

I don't think he has a problem understanding that this guy is just a friend. Many "straight" men are threatened by gay men because it makes them question their own sexuality. I know that is cliche, but I think it is true. It is a comfort factor.

Maybe your husband is afraid of his own repressed homosexual desires and you having a gay friend threatens to bring his desires to the surface.
