Unfortunately, they have been chipping away at human rights all along.. they ran up against opposition when they tried to have guns eliminated.. but they continue to try.

The expansion of government by Bush is directly in response to to what congress has dictated as a result of the 9/11 investigation.

Bingo,I asked that same question about an hour or two ago. They continually take away personal responsibility and acuse the republicans of doing so.They continually support political correctness which takes away freedom of choices and personal responsibility.ie,policing what we eat and putting regulations on restaurants and schools what foods are available and how they are prepared.Making lawsuit threats to big food manufactors if they do not decrease the fat content of their foods..,did so with kraft and nabisco a few years ago.Smoking bans and now it is illegal to walk down the street in Omaha Ne with a cigarette in your hand, they are encouraging people to use 911 to report smokers so they get arrested.

Liberals often see big business as "the bad guy" and look to government to protect people from it.

Conservatives are more likely to see big government as "the bad guy" from whom entrepreneurs need to be protected.

Both sides are motivated by protecting people from overreaching. It's just the application of the principle.

Another Shiraz clone spreading lies. Under this administration we have seen the largest expansion of government and the greatest threats to individual liberty in the history of the country. And lets not forget the biggest debt.

Lies and weasel words are all the rethugs have.

They aren't for individual rights. They don't even recognize individuals. They are for group rights & they think that only they are qualified to say which group deserves which rights.

what? are you paying attention to the amount of tiny little government agencies that the supposedly anti government republicans have implemented into our system, youre ignorant. dont you think it would be better to have less government then more? because right now theres so much govt. we cant get anything done, the most glaring and obvious proof of this is the fiasco of hurricane katrina.
