You can look on some websites, e.g. http://www.telegrapharchives.co.uk/fotoweb/grid1.fwx?ForceLogin=Yes&Username=archive&Password=archive&search= where you can search on name. (Grimsby Telegraph - you can look up the website for newspapers they might have been in.)
Not sure on all the websites, but you can look for them. If they are a member of a website, e.g. http://www.myspace.com/ then you can look for them on there.

You can try Google Images, or search for them on MySpace or something like that.

Wow i hope not, that would be creepy - why would thier picture be on the net. My Space would be your best bet if not then its probably good you couldn't. (unless they are famous of course)
