some say fur coats are bad, and if you wear fur you are a murder.

NO! Inhumane means are employed to kill animals for their fur. Those means are to horrendous to print on here!!! If you REALLY want to know more,look it up on the net,but be warned,its gruesome and very upsetting.

I don't think it's nice at all to be wearing fur. Though my friends have fur items, I can't say I completely approve. The whole issue is that, when they kill the animal, they discard the rest of the animal. If we could be like the early Native Americans, who used every part of the buffalo and deer they hunted, it probably wouldn't be so bad. Either way, I am very much an enviromentalist and to see the way they treat the animals makes me want to wretch on the spot. My uncle works in a meat locker too, so I've grown up around watching animals die. But I love them; I've been riding horses since I was 3. It's my passion and is about the only thing that keeps me sane. I also have 3 dogs, two cats, 2 lovebirds, and a tank full of fish. To imagine them being killed because of something they owned is terrible. Who says animals don't have hearts and minds?

The problem I have with fur is that they are killing the animal JUST for the fur. The rest of the animal is descarded. That is not right. And now a days it isn't used to keep people warm...its a fashion thing. There's no sense in it.
I grew up on a farm and my mom and dad both hunted. Our cows were killed and we ate the meat, but we also used every part of that animal so nothing went to waste..same with the deer. We ate the meat, the hide went for leather, gloves etc. The bones and left overs were boiled and given to the dogs. Everything got used somehow or another.
I just feel that if you are going to kill an animal, then you better use every part of that animal you can.

No, I don't think they should. Conditions those poor animals are kept in is just plain cruel, not to mention the things they do to them to make the clothing.

I LOVE my fur coats. They last forever and adapt like nothing else to really cold conditions.
Animals raised for fur are bred just for that. I am pretty sure that the industry finds something useful to do with the meat as well. There is a long long history of humans using whatever resources they can find to their own advantage. What is intrinsically more valuable about eating meat than wearing skin? It's all in your perspective.

Fur is gross. Anyone ever seen Silence of the Lambs? Buffalo Bill anyone? It puts the lotion in the basket or it gets the hose again.
