They might pretend to except the fact that you are gay. But they really feel bothered about it. And I rather someone be straight forward whether than to hide how they really feel inside.

there can be a lot of different reasons but I think they just don't know how to behave, what to say, society hasn't yet accepted homosexuals and they are also afraid of being judged
