As of last week, NBC ordered more episodes, 13 or 22 (not sure). Enough to do at least another year. I read it in TV Guide.

It's not predetermined. While the producers, actors, writers, etc. for the show would like it to last 10 seasons, there is never any guarantee.
How many seasons it'll last is determined on a year to year basis based on the commercials. Seriously. If they can sell air time for top dollar to advertisers because it's a popular show, then it will stay on the air. If the show's ratings go down, the value of the commercial air time drops. When this happens, the show gets cancelled.

Anyone who is 100% sure there will be more than one season is either one of the network suits or a sponsor. Everything that comes on TV is a crapshoot these days, and if you're expecting more, you're going to get your feelings hurt at some point.

No one knows for sure yet. So far the numbers are good, but things have been known to change midway through a season.
So far it has only been picked up for this season.
It will be a wait and see type thing until the end of this season.

They intend to have more than one season but there is always the possibility that the cast may take other jobs. Hayden Panatiere is a hot commodity having ties to Disney. She could get a movie at any moment. That is big money. So, probably is as good as you can get.

If this season is successful then they will. If it tanks (which it could, knowing NBC) then no it won't. But I would say that there probably will be and the Cheerleader will be saved, and that super corny cop who can read minds will hopefully be killed.

If it continues to beat opponents on FOX, CBS, ABC etc. on Mondays, then they would consider about 1 more season or if they feel confident, 2 more.
