Who out there thinks Gary Seven and Miss Roberta Lincoln should have their own movie? They've appeared in a number of books and always been great.
As Spock once said to Roberta, aboard the Enterprise,
"Miss Lincoln, I'm sure you are more than merely a 'Hippie chick.'"

That episode of Star Trek was intended to spin off those two characters into their own show. I think that Robert Lansing and Teri Garr were perfect as Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln. It would have made a great show, IMHO. However, NBC didn't think so and didn't purchase it.

I've also wondered why Majel Barrett Roddenberry has never tried to resurrect it. It would be good even today. How 'bout Bob Hoskins and Kirsten Dunst? (I know, I'm dreaming.)

I don't know about their own movie, but there is plenty of potential there for their own TV series. Why should Dr. Who be the only guy to travel through time and save the universe?

There's a lot of stuff you could do with many of the characters.

Somehow, the writers always found a way to f*ck it up.

Look at how Troi was under-utilized in ST: TNG.
